Qualche settimana fa vi avevamo riportato la prima selezione per i Razzie Awards 2017, ovvero il riconoscimento meno ambito del cinema che premia il peggio dell'anno. Oggi sono uscite le nomination definitive in cui Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice di Zack Snyder conferma di essere fra i film più bersagliati comparendo in molte categorie con ben 8 nomination (una in meno di Zoolander 2 leader indiscusso di questa edizione). Fra i nominati, troviamo anche posto per Suicide Squad e Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Che la critica non abbia apprezzato moltissimo le pellicole Warner Bros./DC Comics non è certo un mistero e per questo motivo Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice e Suicide Squad potrebbero fare il pieno ai Razzie Awards, l'evento che premia il peggio del cinema. Solo il 23 gennaio (un giorno prima di quelli degli Oscar) conosceremo le nomination definitive con i 5 film di ogni categoria dei Golden Raspberry Awards 2017, meglio noti come Razzies, fatto sta che al momento Batman V Superman di Zack Snyder è fra i film più presenti. La pellicola compare in Worst Picture and Worst Prequel, Remake, Ripoff or Sequel, Worst Screenplay, Worst Director (Zack Snyder), Worst Actor (Henry Cavill e Ben Affleck) e Worst Supporting Actor (Jesse Eisenberg e Jeremy Irons).
Manca all'appello solo in Worst Actress e Worst Supporting Actress.

Anche Suicide Squad di David Ayer non se la passa bene, il film compare nelle seguenti categorie: Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor (Jared Leto e Will Smith) e Worst Actress (Margot Robbie).

Uscirà domani, mercoledì 21 dicembre, Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #1 che rappresenta il primo grande evento dell'era DC Rebirth. La Justice League scopre dell'esistenza della Suicide Squad, ma lo scontro tra i gruppi verrà messo in secondo piano quando entrambi combatteranno un misterioso nemico comune.

Facendo un rapido bilancio, dopo poco più di 4 mesi dall'uscita di Suicide Squad nelle sale cinematografiche americane, ci si accorge che il risultato finale a cui si assiste è a dir poco sorprendente: il totale degli incassi nel mercato interno nord americano della pellicola è sostanzialmente identico a quello di Batman V Superman, pellicola che poteva vantare personaggi più famosi, e su cui la Warner Bros. ha sicuramente puntato di più, considerandola l'apripista per il nuovo DCEU.

325,1 sono i milioni di dollari incassati da SS a fronte dei 330,3 milioni ottenuti da BVS, una differenza minima se si considera anche che la prima pellicola è costata ben 75 milioni di dollari in meno della seconda, ad una prima stima. Una cosa che tuttavia accomuna i due film è sicuramente la scarsa valutazione critica associata. Se si considerano i dati globali poi, Suicide Squad chiude a 745,5 milioni mentre Batman V Superman arriva a 873,2, ma solo perché 100 milioni sono arrivati solo dalla Cina, in cui SS non è mai stato proiettato in quanto considerato inadatto per il popolo cinese. Questo ha penalizzato non di poco la pellicola, che avrebbe facilmente superato così i risultati di 773 milioni di Guardians of the Galaxy e i 782 milioni di Deadpool, altri film che presentavano personaggi non particolarmente conosciuti dal pubblico.

Attualmente non si sa nulla di un possibile secondo capitolo di Suicide Squad, mentre è stato annunciato lo spin-off su Harley Quinn.
