Sono state annunciate le candidature degli Eisner Awards 2026, che confermano alcune tendenze ormai sempre più evidenti nel panorama fumettistico internazionale.

A dominare la lista delle nomination è ancora una volta DC Comics, che raccoglie 16 candidature principali, a cui si aggiungono altre 10 condivise. Un risultato trainato soprattutto dal successo della linea “Absolute”, con Absolute Martian Manhunter che ottiene sei nomination complessive e Absolute Batman che ne conquista cinque.

Alle spalle della casa editrice di Burbank si piazzano Image Comics, con 12 candidature principali più nove condivise, e Fantagraphics con 14 nomination complessive. Seguono Abrams con nove candidature, Drawn & Quarterly con sei, IDW/Top Shelf con cinque più otto condivise e Random House con cinque. La Marvel è in coda con solo 3 nomination più 5 condivise.

Tra gli autori più presenti spicca Deniz Camp, che ottiene cinque nomination personali grazie al lavoro svolto su diverse serie. Seguono James Tynion IV con quattro candidature e autori come Juni Ba, Javier Rodriguez, Jesse Lonergan, Linnea Sterte, Kelly Thompson ed Eric Zawadski, tutti presenti in tre categorie.

Per quanto riguarda le opere, oltre ai già citati titoli della linea “Absolute”, si mettono in evidenza anche Assorted Crisis Events con cinque candidature e Department of Truth con quattro. Tre nomination ciascuna invece per Drome e A Garden of Spheres.

Per l’Italia segnaliamo la presenza di Werther Dell’Edera, Mattia De Iulis, Elia Bonetti, Chiara Mestieri e Francesco Francavilla.

Gli Eisner Awards rappresentano da decenni uno dei riconoscimenti più prestigiosi del fumetto internazionale, premiando opere, graphic novel, webcomic e professionisti dell’industria. Le votazioni sono riservate agli operatori del settore accreditati.

I vincitori saranno proclamati il 24 luglio durante il San Diego Comic-Con, nel corso della tradizionale cerimonia di gala ospitata al San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel.

Come vi avevamo riportato poco più di un mese fa, Superior Spider-Man sta per tornare. Ora la Marvel Comics ha annunciato ufficialmente una nuova serie regolare dedicata al personaggio che verrà lanciata a novembre. La testata sarà scritta dal creatore del personaggio Dan Slott e sarà disegnata da Mark Bagley e prenderà il via dalla serie Spider-Man dei due autori sopracitati.

Come il Doctor Octopus tornerà ad essere Superior Spider-Man lo scopriremo nello speciale in uscita a settembre Superior Spider-Man Returns #1, un nuovo one-shot che celebra i 10 anni del personaggio.

"Mentre un nemico infiamma New York con tutto il potere di una stella vivente, Doc Ock fa una scoperta che cambia la vita in questa epica celebrazione di tutto ciò che ha reso Spider-Man superiore", si legge nell'annuncio della Marvel. “Il nuovo cattivo farà la sua prima apparizione in Superior Spider-Man Returns prima di scatenare la sua vendetta su Otto Octavius, Peter Parker e altri nella nuova serie.”

Scritta da Slott e illustrata da Ryan Stegman, la serie originale di Superior Spider-Man è durata da marzo 2013 a settembre 2014 ed era incentrata su un Otto Octavius morente che prendeva il corpo di Peter Parker nel tentativo di dimostrare che poteva essere uno Spider-Man migliore. Questo arco narrativo è stato adattato nella seconda stagione della serie animata Disney XD Marvel's Spider-Man. Anche Otto Octavius/Superior Spider-Man ha recentemente fatto un'apparizione cameo nel film d'animazione Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Superior Spider-Man #1 sarà in vendita mercoledì 15 novembre.

C'è un nuovo Punitore in città. La Marvel ha infatti annunciato al San Diego Comic-Con International 2023 che l'agente S.H.I.E.L.D. in pensione Joe Garrison raccoglierà l'eredità di Frank Castle.

Joe Garrison è una creazione dello scrittore David Pepose, la cui serie limitata Moon Knight: City of the Dead è appena stata lanciata, e dell'artista Dave Wachter, meglio conosciuto per il suo lavoro sulla serie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles della IDW Publishing.

"In questa nuova saga ricca d'azione del Punisher, Frank Castle è scomparso, ma il male dovrà sempre essere punito. Con nuove minacce in arrivo per le vittime innocenti, i criminali dovranno fare attenzione a un pericoloso vigilante che li caccia dall'ombra", si legge nell'annuncio ufficiale della Marvel.
