SDCC18: Miracleman di Neil Gaiman e Mark Buckingham tornerà nel 2019

Ad un evento riservato ai rivenditori tenutosi durante il San Diego Comic-Con, la Marvel ha annunciato che il lavoro Neil Gaiman e Mark Buckingham hanno ripreso il loro lavoro su Miracleman originariamente programmato per 2017 e in uscita ora nel 2019.

Sebbene questo revival fosse previsto per lo scorso anno, ostacoli legali avevano rimandato il progetto a tempo indeterminato. La Marvel ha informato i rivenditori che questi problemi legali sono stati risolti, aprendo la strada ai nuovi fumetti di Miracleman.

"Sono elettrizzato dal fatto che tutte le barriere che impedivano a Mark e a me di lavorare su Miracleman siano state risolte. Siamo entusiasti di tornare nel mondo di Michael Moran e Dicky Dauntless", ha scritto Gaiman in una dichiarazione. Buckingham ha aggiunto: "Sono così incredibilmente entusiasta di tornare a lavorare con Neil!"

Dopo aver acquisito i diritti alcuni anni fa, la Marvel ha pubblicato le ristampe dell'originale Marvelman/Miracleman dal 2014 al 2016.

SDCC18: DC: Batman, Heroes in Crisis e i nuovi progetti di Geoff Johns

Al San Diego Comic-Con sono giunte diverse notizie per i fan DC Comics, in special modo su Batman. Vi abbiamo già riportato le novità sulla storia dei 3 Joker e sul nuovo progetto di Marc Silvestri. Ecco un riepilogo delle altre news annunciate:

- Peter J. Tomasi e Doug Mahnke saranno il nuovo team artistico di Detective Comics a partire dal numero 944. La loro run punta diritto al numero 1000 della serie che dovrebbe uscire il prossimo anno.

- Scott Snyder e Jock hanno annunciato il loro prossimo progetto: l'ex team creativo di Detective Comics realizzerà The Batman Who Laughs, una miniserie in uscita a novembre. "Volevo creare la storia di Batman più spaventosa e oscura che abbia mai fatto", ha dichiarato Snyder. "Il Batman che ride sta tornando... e ha un piano davvero malvagio. E ha un nuovo Cavaliere Oscuro con lui, un malvagio Batman che raccolse la pistola di Joe Chill nel vicolo e gli sparò". "È uno dei peggiori incubi di Batman. È una sorta di Batman/Punitore, ma è anche Bruce Wayne, il che lo rende terrificante... è ricco, ha accesso a tutto. È il più oscuro Cavaliere Oscuro di sempre ed entrerà nell'universo DC come lo scagnozzo del Batman che ride".

- Tom King ha dichiarato che Batman indosserà il classico costume risalente all'"era Hush" perché non vuole indossare quello che aveva durante il periodo insieme a Catwoman. Di seguito i disegni diffuso di Tony S. Daniel e Lee Weeks.

- King ha parlato anche dell'evento Heroes in Crisis, dichiarando che Clay Mann verrà affiancato da Mitch Gerads per alcuni strategici numeri che gettano uno sguardo più specifico sulla storia generale.
L'autore ha aggiunto, a proposito della miniserie:
"Voglio parlare di questa generazione della New War, delle milioni di persone che hanno combattuto coraggiosamente all'estero e sono tornate a casa per cercare di tornare alle loro vite normali. Voglio parlare delle loro speranze, dei loro dolori, dei loro trionfi. Voglio usare gli eroi di DC per raccontare le loro storie".
"Ma questa serie non è in realtà su Sanctuary. Riguarda i fallimenti di Sanctuary. In questo modo sto scrivendo su questo momento della nostra storia. Ci siamo sentiti al sicuro. Abbiamo avuto sicurezza. Poi qualcosa è andato terribilmente storto. È possibile ripararlo? Combatterlo? "Heroes in Crisis riguarda gli eroi che devono vivere attraverso la violenza per salvare il mondo e cosa fa loro quella violenza. Fanno un sacrificio ogni volta che escono per combattere i cattivi. Quel sacrificio è al centro della serie. "

- Scott Snyder ha annunciato che ci sarà un nuovo maxi-evento per il 2019. Gli eventi di  preso in giro un massiccio evento crossover della DC Comics per il 2019. Gli eventi di Dark Nights: Metal continueranno ad avere un ruolo fondamentale con la miniserie Batman Who Laughs di Snyder e Jock, e saranno la base di un nuovo mega-evento che coinvolgerà la Justice League intera.

- Lo sceneggiatore Tom Taylor ha annunciato il matrimonio fra Orca e Killer Croc su Injustice 2 #69. Di seguito la cover di Daniel Sampere e Alejandro Sánchez.

- Geoff Johns ha confermato che scriverà la tanto attesa serie mensile di Shazam insieme al suo ex collaboratore su Justice Society of America, Dale Eaglesham.
La nuova serie, che debutterà questo novembre, finalmente spiegherà l'introduzione del nuovo Shazam e della sua famiglia introdotta nei New 52.
Johns ha spiegato che la famiglia Shazam proverà a svelare i segreti della Roccia dell'Eternità e prenderà spunto da classici come The Phantom Tollbooth. "Sono bambini con superpoteri, ma senza manuali. Hanno i poteri ma non sanno davvero come usarli ", ha detto Johns. La serie sarà caratterizzata da cattivi classici come Mister Mind e vedrà la presenza del classico personaggio di supporto di Shazam, la tigre antropomorfa Tawky Tawny.

- Geoff Johns ha anche parlato della sua nuova linea "The Killing Zone", che sarà uno spazio per lui in cui far per debuttare nuovi progetti per nuove e vecchia proprietà DC Comics.
"Volevo mettermi nuovamente alla prova", ha spiegato Johns. "Ho un'etichetta con un sacco di libri diversi e fondamentalmente formano un grande arazzo anche se sono tutti titoli diversi. Sono storie che vanno dal 1940 al 2040. Ci saranno personaggi lì dentro - alcuni personaggi che non sono stati in prima linea nella DC per decenni, e poi anche molti personaggi nuovi."
Secondo Johns, l'etichetta esordirà a maggio del 2019 e i personaggi verranno usati per raccontare una storia rilevante dal punto di vista politico.
"Come con Doomsday Clock, penso di voler canalizzare la mia frustrazione per il clima politico in America. L'idea si è scatenata quando ero a Washington DC e mi hanno condotto alla Casa Bianca e qualcuno ha detto "Non posso sopportare di guardare la Casa Bianca". Ed io, "Perché? La Casa Bianca è la Casa Bianca, e la bandiera americana è la bandiera americana'".
Al momento, non conoscono ulteriori dettagli sull'etichetta, ma si spera che verranno svelati al più presto.

SDCC18: Marc Silvestri al lavoro su Deadly Duo, team up tra Batman e il Joker

DC Comics ha annunciato che l’autore Marc Silvestri sta lavorando a un team up fra Batman e Joker, provvisoriamente intitolato Deadly Duo. Annunciato durante il "DC Meet the Publishers" al Comic-Con International di San Diego, è stato rivelato che Silvestri sta scrivendo, disegnando e inchiostrando la serie della durata complessiva di sette numeri.

"Batman e Joker sono la peggiore squadra di sempre", ha detto Silvestri. "Joker lo ama, ma Batman lo odia."

La storia prenderà l’avvio con un furto ai danni del Joker, che decide, così, di rapire Jim Gordon torturarlo per convincere Batman ad allearsi con lui.

Il co-editor di DC Dan DiDio ha dichiarato che non annunceranno una data di uscita fino a quando Silvestri non avrà completato l'intera serie.

A tal proposito, purtroppo, nessuna illustrazione è stata rilasciata insieme all'annuncio.
