Al NYCC è stata annunciato da Jeph Loeb (Marvel's Head of Television) l'inizio della produzione di Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, serie animata per Disney XD che andrà in onda nel 2015.

"Il film e il franchise sono diventati rapidamente un fenomeno mondiale. Siamo impazienti di lavorare con il grande team di Marvel Television per fornire una serie animata coinvolgente che i fan potranno godersi ogni settimana", ha dichiarato Marc Buhaj (Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD).
"Questo è un momento molto emozionante per i Marvel Animation Studios, esploriamo il lato cosmico dell'Universo Marvel sviluppando la prima serie televisiva dei Guardiani della Galassia", ha affermato Jeph Loeb. "Dopo aver interpretato il più grande film del 2014, tutti vogliono più Star-Lord e la sua squadra - e ora potranno averlo".
