Nel corso degli anni molti autori si sono cimentati nell’adattamento de L’isola del tesoro, il capolavoro della letteratura per ragazzi abilmente congegnato da Robert Louis Stevenson. Nomi altisonanti e dal respiro internazionale tra i quali Dino Battaglia e Hugo Pratt, ma anche preziosi artigiani del media fumetto, uniti nel segno dell’avventura.
Apparentemente perché la storia è già bella che scritta, perfetta nella sua trama coinvolgente, tanto che sarebbe sufficiente tradurla in immagini. Facile a dirsi, in realtà questa è un’iniziativa spigolosa da intraprendere: trovare una chiave di lettura, possibilmente nuova o meno consueta rispetto ai canoni tradizionali, capace di appassionare soprattutto il lettore più smaliziato, è un’impresa da far tremare i polsi. Eppure è possibile e questo volume ben realizzato dalla Star Comics all’interno della collana I Maestri dell’Avventura ne è la prova.

Dietro un segno grafico non sempre immediato e tuttavia efficace, distante dal mainstream più rassicurante e popolare, ad opera del semi esordiente Andrea Carenzi, alias Oscar, autore finora attivo maggiormente in altri ambiti artistici, lo sceneggiatore Michele Monteleone (tra i fondatori di Villain Comics e sceneggiatore anche per Aurea, Bonelli e Cosmo) focalizza l’attenzione non tanto sul capitano Long John Silver, autentico - ma banale, data la sua attitudine alla leadership - fulcro di tanti altri adattamenti dell’opera, quanto piuttosto sul giovane narratore Jim Hawkins.
Ed è una scelta saggia perché il lettore, attraverso una sceneggiatura senza fronzoli, viene costantemente consapevolizzato su quanto accade. Il ritrovamento della mappa e la conseguente caccia al tesoro, l’ingaggio della “Hispaniola”, le lotte intestine per la supremazia, l’inevitabile ammutinamento, il viaggio rocambolesco, l’incontro con personalità che simboleggiano quasi sempre nettamente il bene e il male… Tutte le tappe di un percorso anche interiore che condurranno i vari personaggi verso la loro sorte, nell’apoteosi dell’avventura intesa come un modus vivendi.

Un’edizione valida nonostante le dimensioni ridotte, con un sapiente uso dei toni di grigio da parte di Oscar che compensa in questo modo la non semplice godibilità del suo tratto. Piuttosto interessante la postfazione-approfondimento firmata dal curatore e mentore della collana Roberto Recchioni, così come quella redatta dallo stesso Monteleone con i suoi sentimenti riguardo il romanzo che andava a rielaborare per questa pubblicazione.

Sono state annunciate le nomination per la 87° edizione degli Oscar la cui premiazione avverrà il 22 febbraio. Per quanto riguarda la nostra sfera, bisogna segnalare Edward Norton in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) come attore non protagonista, mentre per le attrici non protagoniste Emma Stone (Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)) e Meryl Streep (Into the Woods). Birdman, ad ogni modo è protagonista di quasi tutte le categorie principali.

Per i film Marvel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier e Guardians of the Galaxy sono in gara per gli effetti speciali. I Guardiani anche per il trucco.
Da segnalare, inoltre, Maleficent per i costumi.
Due attori di legati ai film Marvel Studios, Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) e Mark Ruffalo (Foxcatcher), potrebbero aggiudicarsi rispettivamente le statuette di miglior attore protagonosta e non protagonista.

Come miglior film animato, le nomination sono per Big Hero 6, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Song of the Sea e The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. In basso, invece, trovate la candidature per i cortometraggi.

Via avevamo già parlato dell'Oscar alla Carriera conferito a Hayao Miyazaki per il suo incredibile e fondamentale lavoro per l'animazione mondiale e non solo giapponese. Ora vi mostriamo il video della cerimonia avvenuta sabato 8 novembre nella Grand Ballroom dell'Hollywood and Highland Center dove l'Academy ha premiato oltre al regista anche Harry Belafonte, Maureen O’Hara e Jean-Claude Carrière. Di recente Miyazaki ha confermato però di non ritirarsi dall'animazione sebbene si sia ritirato dai lungometraggi.

Il prossimo 15 gennaio verranno annunciati i cinque candidati ufficiali all'Oscar per la categoria "Miglior film d'animazione". È stato diffuso, intanto, l'elenco dei 20 titoli che l'Academy prenderà in considerazione per la cinquina  finale:
