Durante l'ultimo Baltimore Comic-Con, tenutosi lo scorso week end, si sono assegnati gli Harvey Awards 2015, di cui vi abbiamo riportato i vincitori per tutte le varie categorie. Nella sezione Harvey Special Award for Humor è risultato vincitore Chip Zdarsky per il suo lavoro sulle pagine di Sex Criminals, realizzata insieme allo scrittore Matt Fraction.

Ebbene, tramite un post su Tumblr, l'artista ha dichiarato di voler rinunciare all'Harvey Awards in quanto viene riconosciuto esclusivamente il suo lavoro sulla serie della Image Comics, e non quello dello scrittore della stessa, ovvero Fraction. "È bello vedere che la gente ha capito quanto speciale e quando divertente io sia, e davvero ringrazio tutti quelli che mi hanno votato, ma il premio, così come è inteso, non ha senso. La questione è che io sono stato nominato per uno humor award per il mio lavoro su Sex Criminals senza però lo scrittore della serie, il mio caro amico Matt Fraction, il che per me è sbagliato. Su tutti i livelli. Ho fatto notare questo agli organizzatori degli Harvey Awards e ho detto loro che mi sarebbe piaciuto condividere il premio con Matt altrimenti non l'avrei accettato. Ma loro hanno declinato entrambe le opzioni".

Zdarsky suggerisce per il futuro di modificare la categoria in "Best Humor Publication", evidenziando così il risultato di una collaborazione tra scrittore e disegnatore, non solo il singolo artista. Zdarsky aveva già esposto il suo disappunto per la nomination a luglio quando erano state rese note.

Dopo avervi riportato le nomination lo scorso luglio, ecco i vincitori del prestigioso Harvey Awards, l'importante premio statunitense che prende il suo nome da Harvey Kurtzman, fondatore e direttore della rivista MAD. I premi, ricordiamo, vengono selezionati esclusivamente dagli addetti ai lavori attraverso una votazione online.
