Dopo Arrow, un altro serial dell'Arrowverse giungerà alla sua conclusione. Entertainment Weekly riporta, infatti, che la sesta stagione di Supergirl sarà anche l'ultima. Il sito riporta che gli sceneggiatori hanno già iniziato a progettare l'ultima stagione, che durerà 20 episodi e andrà in onda nel 2021.

Avviata originariamente nel 2015 su CBS, la serie è ambientata in una realtà diversa rispetto a quella dell'Arrowverse. I due universi si sono incontrati varie volte quando poi lo show si è trasferito, dalla seconda stagione, su The CW. Attualmente la rete sta lancia uno spin-off su Superman & Lois previsto per il 2021.

La protagonista della serie, Melissa Benoist, ha confermato la notizia sul suo account Instagram ufficiale con la seguente dichiarazione:

Questa sera, 20 marzo, e domani andrà in onda su The CW il crossover musicale fra The Flash e Supergirl con i due eroi uniti per sfidare Music Meister, interpretato da Darren Criss. È stata ora diffusa una clip musicale tratta dall'episodio di The Flash con Grant Gustin e Melissa Benoist, potete vederla qui di seguito. Vi mostriamo, inoltre, anche il poster del crossover.

Come vi abbiamo riportato in passato, l'attrice Lynda Carter, nota per il suo ruolo di Wonder Woman nel celebre telefilm degli anni '70, sarà nella seconda stagione di Supergirl nel ruolo di Presidente degli Stati Uniti d'America. In Supergirl, lo show televisivo della The CW giunto alla sua seconda stagione, troviamo Melissa Benoist nei panni della protagonista, al fianco di Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen), Laura Benanti (Alura Zor-El), Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Chyler Leigh (Alexandra “Alex” Danvers), Jeremy Jordan (Winslow “Winn” Schott), Jenna Dewan Tatum (Lucy Lane), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), Peter Facinelli (Maxwell Lord), Dean Cain, Helen Slater, Lynda Carter (Presidente degli Stati Uniti), Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Ian Gomez (Snapper Carr) e Floriana Lima (Maggie Sawyer). La seconda stagione andrà in onda a partire dal 10 ottobre negli States.
